Lago Chungara and back to Arica

11 december 2016 - Santiago, Chili

Our last day into the Andes was dedicated to Lago Chungara. we left Putre at 9.00 am after having bought 25 liters gazoline as we had to drive further into the mountain chain and 250 km back to the cost. Kilometers of traffic jam as very closed to the boki bolivian border. The lake appeared to us in all its beauty. We also visited the lovely and very quiet village of Parinacota, all its inhabitants seemed to be inside door closed except a pup who was enjoying a quiet lay down in the square of the village.

We started to make our way back to Arica and encountered a strange and terrifying  happening. A bolivian truck driver seemed to have lost control of his vehicle and went into the ravine in front of my very eyes. Couldn't sleep from it either.

11.12: beach day in Arica, 12.12 flight back to Santiago.
